Phase Shift

Gosh!! Finally I made it...What seemed extremely daunting, testing and looked like a bleak future is probably now clearing up..Time seems to have an answer for everything. My experience was fun and the process was a cakewalk as I cruised through the three rounds..and lo, finally there someone calls me and says, "Dude, u have got thru." There are more phone calls and messages that follow.

I get ecstatic, the quantum of realization for me is the feeling that I have made a job, obviously the first one and it gives a wave of satisfaction for having settled in life, after all its shift from one phase to next in my life.

Well for those who haven't yet made a job, here are few tips which I pen down from my experiences. You may choose not to follow the same.

Firstly, grab whatever job that comes ur way which is decent. Friend, understand that it is recession and many companies are opting out. A bird in hand is worth two in a bush. If you are waiting for a specific type of company it might not help much. You can always apply off campus next sem. But now be flexible. Don't settle for something you detest but still keep your options open.

Secondly, for any s/w or h/w jobs, C is a key requirement. "Test your C skills" is an excellent book and I have seen questions being picked directly from this book in Aptitudes. The biggest hurdle for a job is not the interview but the aptitude, for u can make ur point in the interview and your confidence will take u thru..but if u can't clear apti, u r destined to be doomed. I thank RR Swathi here, if not for her suggestions I wouldn't have made it.

Thirdly, present your resume in the best manner. Many people don't bother to spend time in making resume, but believe me a well presented and formatted resume is ur key that will open the doors for the interviewer about you. Review it, review it and keeping reviewing it and do take suggestions from few close friends...it really helps..

Finally, what happens at the interview?? What happens at the interview should be what you want it to happen..Present your core strengths and projects, highlight your achievements right at the beginning so the interviewer spends time asking about these things which u can answer well, and this way u have spent more time in the interview showacasing that you are a very capable candidate..

Ultimately, if you make a job, thatz great, otherwise take it as a learning experience..Afterall, the best way to learn a thing is through mistakes for then u know that you can make a different mistake :)

Hi guyz..this is my first post...

If you are wondering why I named it BULLz Eye, thatz bcoz i like keeping things short and to the point. I see no point in wandering around and that's how i am and that is what my blog will be..You know, its just another way of saying I am not a good writer :P

And what will my blog contain? - Anything that interests me and I would want to share. But I can promise it will be really meaningful and sensible - It can be things that make you think or it could just be a piece of info and my opinion on it...You are free to comment on it...I Love Critics...
